Sawtry Village Local History Archives are open on the last Saturday of every month from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon in Sawtry Library. Come and see what we have to offer, documents, photographs, articles and newspaper cuttings, old maps, artefacts, family history information and much more and its all free.

April Anniversaries

1. April 21st was the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charlotte Bronte, famous for writing "Wuthering Heights" amongst other books.

2. April 21st was Her Majesty The Queen's actual 90th Birthday. Happy Birthday your majesty! She was born in 1926. The official birthday celebration will be in June. A beacon, that stands in front of Sawtry Village Academy, one of a 1000 across the country, was lit to mark the occasion. 

3. April 23rd was St Georges Day.

4. William Shakespeare died on April 23rd 1616, 400 years ago on his 52nd Birthday. He was born on 23rd April 1564.
